    Our Business

Little Change Creators is a purpose-driven business.  Sustainable consumption and waste minimisation are key values of our brand, our products and our vision.  We provide innovative, reusable products to engage families while supporting disadvantaged children in our community.

At Little Change Creators, we believe the best playthings are simple and hands-on to inspire kids’ imagination and creativity.  Our sustainable toys and gifts for children are designed to minimise waste and provide maximum repeat-play value.  We use premium materials, planet-friendly packaging and don’t skimp on quality to drive costs down.

On the first day of each month we randomly select a community member from our email subscriber list.  Prizes consist of free products and/or Gift Cards to a maximum value of AUD$50.00.  Winners are notified by email.  Any prizes not claimed within 10 days of notifying the winner are returned to the prize pool.

    Our Products

Little Change Creators cares for people and our planet by using materials and manufacturing processes which are sustainable and safe.  We aim to impact the toy industry by offering long-lasting alternatives that create less waste and leave as little footprint as possible.  Read more about our sustainable choices and sustainability awards on our blog.

We understand parents need durability so we've chosen materials which are not only robust but can be reused, recycled or upcycled. While there are other suitable materials on the market, the impact of their manufacturing processes has influenced our decisions. As our designs and processes continue to evolve we will continue to look for ways to improve.

The silicone we use in our RE-FUN-able™ Colouring Sets is derived from natural elements such as silica (sand), oxygen, carbon and hydrogen.  However, not all silicone is created equal. We use only premium, food-grade silicone that's non-toxic and FDA-approved. Our silicone is free of harmful chemicals such as BPA, BPS, PVC, phthalates and lead. It's also highly-durable, withstanding both heating and freezing without emitting any nasty chemicals (unlike many plastics and synthetic rubbers). Additionally, the non-porous surface prevents bacteria from forming, making it a really hygienic material for kids!

All Re-FUN-able™ Colouring Sets and Extras are designed and assembled in Australia.  While some components are currently manufactured offshore (we source premium German ink and Japanese nibs for our marker pens), we support many local businesses throughout our supply chain and business operations.

When starting Little Change Creators it simply wasn’t possible to manufacture every item in Australia.  However, we welcome interest from local manufacturers as our business expands and evolves.  Where there is the opportunity to have a product made in Australia every effort should be made to support it.  However, Australian businesses that don't have this opportunity also need support in order to continue providing jobs and innovation incentives for all Australians.

We don’t recommend silicone mats for colouring by children under 4 years of age as the type of ink required stains fabrics and other porous surfaces.

Instead, young children may enjoy the non-stick surface for playdough, slime, mealtimes, messy play, crafts and find’n’seek games.  Once they’re a little more mature (and less likely to draw on your curtains or couch!) they’ll benefit from the erasable surface as it’s a great tool for developing their fine-motor skills.  Here’s to repeat-play value!

In the meantime, little scribblers will love chubby crayons or water-based markers. Crayola Washable Markers are our favourite!

    Sustainability

It would be naïve to think that manufacturing any products can have zero impact on our environment. Unfortunately it’s the cost of our modern lives and even so-called ‘eco-products’ – whether it be apparel, homewares or utilities - still create an environmental impact during production. The important thing to consider is how to minimise this impact – whether it be through the production process, educating customers to reuse instead of replace or a combination of the two.

We consciously choose materials which are not only robust but can be reused, recycled or upcycled. While there are other suitable materials on the market, the impact of their manufacturing processes has influenced our decisions. As our designs and processes continue to evolve we will continue to look for ways to improve.

Little Change Creators is proud to package its products using sustainable materials and methods. Our outer sleeves are made from FSC-certified cardstock and are printed in Australia using vegetable inks and a Carbon Neutral Service certified by the Carbon Reduction Institute (CRI) under the NoCO2 Program. These sleeves are also designed for repurposing as postcards and bookmarks to minimise waste and keep the kids happy. Win-win!

We also carefully choose how we do business. This means we select natural materials over synthetics and avoid unnecessary plastic wraps, tapes and fillers. We opt for sea freight over air freight and always choose recyclables over single-use. We aren't perfect but we're constantly looking for ways to improve.

In the meantime, you’re welcome to return any used marker pens, colouring mats or cloth bags to us for recycling through Terracycle. Please post your unwanted items to:

    Recycle - LCC
    PO BOX 642
    Bulimba QLD 4171

While our products are designed for longevity, one of our goals is to close the consumer loop through a recycling and repurposing partnership. Silicone can be shredded and combined with other rubberised products to create playground mats, roadbases and sports surfaces. These are options we are currently investigating.

In the meantime, we encourage you to give or donate any products you no longer need.

Alternatively, you’re welcome to return any used marker pens, colouring mats or cloth bags to us for recycling through Terracycle. Please post your unwanted items to:

    Recycle - LCC
    PO BOX 642
    Bulimba QLD 4171

Additionally, you may return any used marker pens to Officeworks stores for recycling.

    Safety

As parents ourselves, we take safety seriously which is why we haven’t skimped on quality.

Little Change Creators Re-Fun-able™ Colouring Sets have been laboratory-tested by QIMA and comply with all standards for toy safety and toxicity.

All Little Change Creators products are free of BPA, BPS, PVC, phthalates and lead. Our manufacturers’ certifications also meet or exceed safety requirements in Australia, USA, Canada and Europe.

This means our products may be priced slightly higher than our competitors but, for your peace of mind, we feel it’s worth it.

Due to the components of some products, we recommend close parental supervision and use by children aged 4+ years.

    Care Instructions

Little Change Creators' silicone colouring mats are easy to clean.  Usually, a damp Magic Clean Cloth is all you need. However, if your silicone mat shows any stubborn stains from pre-loved art, an alcohol-based solution such as hand-sanitiser or rubbing alcohol will easily shift the stains. Watch 3 Easy Ways To Clean Colouring Mats for more simple cleaning hacks.

All our Re-FUN-able™ Colouring Set mats are also machine-washable and dishwasher-safe (top drawer) to ensure germ-free fun.

Little Change Creators' silicone mats are designed for reuse, again and again. Here are some tips to remove stains and keep your silicone colouring mat clean:

    1. Use only Little Change Creators' high-quality markers.

    2. Wipe your mat with a damp cloth, preferably on the day of use.

    3. Wash your mat in a dishwasher or washing machine (wipe ink off first).

    4. Use rubbing alcohol (found in supermarkets and pharmacies) or an alcohol-based solution such as hand-sanitiser.

    5. Don't leave your mat in direct sunlight for prolonged periods.

Any ink that dries on silicone requires alcohol as a setting agent.  Whilst alcohol-based inks dry instantly, the downside is that they tend to stain porous surfaces such as textiles and walls.  For this reason, we don’t recommend silicone mats for colouring by children under 4 years of age.

To remove stains from clothing, we suggest using Isopropyl Alcohol (Rubbing Alcohol) which is available from supermarkets and pharmacies. Please refer to our blog, How to remove pen ink stains from clothes and fabrics for instructions.

Sure can! Just pop your colouring mat in a dishwasher or washing machine and the creases will disappear.

    Legalities

We acknowledge that all products may vary slightly due to the nature of manufacturing, and that the reproduction process of colours is as accurate as the production and photographic process will allow.

The very best efforts have been made to ensure our products are safe for your child. We do expect a common sense approach to using our items, with responsibility falling on the customer to determine whether an item is appropriate for use.  The main concern for use under 4 years of age is the small marker pen lids.  However, we've purposefully chosen ventilated caps without clips to minimise any potential risk or injury.  This does not necessarily make them safe for children under 4 years, nor negate the need for appropriate supervision.

Any addition or alteration to our products will void the warranty. We accept no liability from any damage caused through these product amendments.

Any misuse or maintenance that differs from what we state on our website will void the warranty. We accept no liability from any damage caused through use of varied cleaning products or other maintenance on our products.

Please refer to our Terms of Service for further details on Legal Rights and our Returns Policy for Warranty.

Yes, please refer to our Privacy Policy. If you still have questions after reviewing this policy, please contact us.
